I read about this during my first pregnancy and I loved it! Such a simple solution to help your skin look healthy and glowing!
DRY BODY BRUSHING
Dry body brushing is a where you use a big paddle style brush on dry skin to increase circulation and blood flow, all the while removing the surface layer of dead skin. You can do it before or after a shower and then finish with applying coconut oil (or your choice in body moisturizer). The trick is to brush towards your heart to encourage blood flow and good circulation. Essentially from the feet up brush upwards, and the neck down, brush downwards.
Coconut Oil as a moisturiser was also a total miracle for me! My husband has extremely dry skin and even the clinical skin care was just acting like a sealant not penetrating and healing the skin. During my pregnancy I wanted to cut out as many chemicals as possible so I tried coconut oil! I have normal skin so at first I think it was a bit rich for my skin (especially my face) but over time it was like my body adjusted to it and it soaked it all up. I have visibly noticed a difference in the condition of both mine and my husbands skin texture and appearance since chucking out our chemical filled moisturisers and using coconut oil. I do also love that it is a cheaper option given we both now use it up to twice a day. Another plus is that it is recommended as a healing agent for wounds, cuts, scars, stretch marks, sunburn and can be used as a massage oil too for sports injuries or relaxing back rubs! We keep a jar of it, lid off in the bathroom cupboard. Only thing is with hot Perth summers it does go to liquid in the heat so sometimes we move it to the fridge for a few months. We also use it for nappy rash on the babies and it is amazing how quickly it clears up for them. I don't use it on my face as I use doTERRA cleanser and moisturiser, but I do use it as a body moisturiser every day! It is an oil however so be careful when touching hair or clothing after applying it as it can leave an oily residue on things.
Dry brushes can be found in most chemists, I think I may have got mine from the Body Shop, and coconut oil is now available in pretty much all supermarkets in the health food section!
