SARAH   I am the founder of  I Am Wonder Mum . I am 30 this year (!!!) and a mum of two seriously energetic kiddies-Eve who is 2.5 years old, and Jack who is 6 months old. I am wife to my best friend and business partner Ernie who shares my passion for health and wellness from the inside out. We love fitness, healthy eating, children, growing our own produce (well I do) and cleaning peoples teeth (well he does-he's a dentist!). He's not an instagram husband so you may not see many photos of him here and he always forgets to take photos in general so all the photos are taken by me (including the ones of myself!) Over the years we have evolved into a mostly sugar free, gluten free and somewhat dairy free (Ernie) household and so love trying out new and delicious recipes that we are can all eat together. I do my best to not be on social media or emails while the kids are awake and prefer to read a book (or cook something) if I have a few moments while they are happily playing.

ESSENTIAL OILS   Essential Oils have become a HUGE part of my every day living. One of my best friends Mel (Essential Mumma) got me onto them when Eve was about 18 months old. I initially used them for teething relief, and for quick fix of cold and flu symptoms for us and Eve. BUT as we saw how amazing they were, they quickly become a much valued part of our household and we are now passionate advocates for good quality Essential Oils as a natural solution to many things! Most nights we diffuse oils to help the babies sleep deeply, relieve Ernie's allergies or sinus difficulties, and in the day time to bring balance and calm to the playroom or repel insects from our outdoor dining area.  We also all use body and hair care products that are infused with oils to help promote clear skin and healthy hair. We cook and bake with them, keep roller bottles of them in our day bags and travel with them too-we are BIG fans!

These resources have assisted us in creating healthy and positive sleep, eating and playtime habits for our little ones and given us the confidence to be the leaders of the family. Disclaimer-this has not been without challenge, but for us it has been so worth it and we are forever grateful for the advice of many families who have gone before us! We also love creating a life for our kids that teaches them about the simple joys in life like growing our own produce, playing outside in the garden, walking as a family and cooking together. All the while being business owners and managing the dynamics of work/family life.

I did like many, struggle with body image in high school and university, so after many years of let's just say 'experimental eating', I had a lot of healing to do for my body. I suffered for many years from low iron, dry hair and nails, mood swings (I'm talking serious swings here!), out of control emotions, bad periods, and low energy levels that were aggravated by my addiction to caffeine as a 'food group'. I have had to learn the ins and outs of eating for health and have some incredible resources to share with you that have changed my life. I was never a confident cook and was known in my share house for my specialty dish 'sausage pasta' (which I cringe at now) and so I feel immense pride at being able to provide healthy and tasty dishes for my beautiful family. I'm a keen Thermomix user so you'll find me using that a lot in my recipes too.

PREGNANCY   Having had two fairly smooth and healthy pregnancies I can appreciate the need for health and nutritional advice at this time of life. With both babies I had pretty bad morning sickness and so curated a menu of healthy foods that were manageable on a queasy tummy, a tool kit of essential oils that helped immensely in the lead up to labour and delivery (and post birth recovery) and a whole list of baby products, books and wisdom that I have found very useful. I exercised right through both pregnancies although with significantly different approaches. My birth stories are quite different between both children and I can attribute that to my knowledge of natural solutions to assist in labour and the balance I have learnt to prioritise in my thinking.  Fun fact though, although both births were so different can you believe, I had the same labour lengths, same birth times, same baby weights and only ONE centimetre difference between the kids! How is that?!
